Diabetes can be caused by many things, no one is really certain. In my case it was an inoperable tumour. I have put on a lot of weight due to the medication I am on including an insulin which is not agreeing with me. Do not make assumptions. How would you like it if I called you dirty because you had spotty face or greasy hair!?

Are you really telling us that obesity and diabetes go hand= in hand? I am not obese in any sense of the word but I am a diabetic. WHY? Because my body is always making too much insulin for me. If I don't eat my blood sugar rises. Obesity is another entire problem and some obese people do not have nor will they ever get diabetes.

Diabetes may be seen as a symptom of a problem but it is not always accurately viewed. The problem may be many fold but is pancreas related. It is not always a diet or obesity problem. Type 1's are obviously outside that realm as are many type 2's
