Default Can you have a miscarriage if you are diabetic? No medication just diet controlled.?

I have been diabetic for about 8 years with no medication just diet controlled but I have recently had a miscarriage about 3 months ago.I just came from the hospital and they told me that I might have miscarried as I am diabetic.I did take an insulin when I was pregnant but after 2 hours that's when I miscarried.I also have fibroids but they are 2 small to be removed. What is one supposed to do here? Try again and maybe/maybe not miscarry or remove my uterus and no baby for life? I am so confused.
